It is a great pleasure for me to welcome the esteemed online visitors of Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR), the apex public research organization of the country functioning under the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of the Peoples’ Republic of Bangladesh.

BCSIR started its’ glorious voyage in 1955 as the East Regional Laboratory and in 1973, after the independence of Bangladesh, the Council was established by the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Since inception BCSIR is marching forward performing brilliant R&D activities and now in this 21st century it has expanded its domain to eleven research laboratories, institutes and centre in different fields of science and technology.

The significant and innovative exercises of the scientists resulted in enormous developments which are outlined here. I strongly feel that this website will satisfy the enquiries & demands of our patrons, well-wishers and the scientists’ community. Indeed this website is a showcase of our achievements and developments. We are happy to share and explore our experiences with our stake-holders, MoU partners, universities and other research organizations.

BCSIR is moving forward with dynamism for continuous development and as the leading R&D establishments of the country it is now in such a prestigious position that we can be proud of this organization.Being the Chairman of BCSIR, I am indeed delighted to place on record that I have successfully completed one year 6 months journey as the Chairman of BCSIR and I am optimistic that BCSIR will enrich the science and technology sector of Bangladesh.
