Institute of Mining, Mineralogy and Metallurgy (IMMM) is the first and only research organization in the field of Mine, Minerals and Metallurgy in Bangladesh. From the very beginning, this institution is providing facilities of different laboratory analysis, instrument handling and maintenance, and subject-based training to the teacher and students from different universities and colleges. Each year our scientist help a good number of Ph.D./MPhil/M.S/M.Sc/B.Sc students as co-supervisor for their research work. 

We have world-class laboratory and instruments in our three divisions (Mining, Mineralogy, and Metallurgy). Where the researchers can carry out their research on Petrology, Petrography, Geochemistry, Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, Mining, Chemistry, and related topics. As well as we have different prospective research themes as “Industrial use of mineral sand, valuable heavy and light minerals recovery, resource recovery from waste, utilization of agricultural and mining wastes for potential applications, geo-environmental and geotechnical applications, synthetic and treated gem, clean use of coal technology, low cost building materials, development of several alloys for potential engineering applications, improvement of the local foundries to obtain quality metallic products”. The teacher, students, and researcher from different institutions and industry-related organization can carry out joint research work (collaboration) with the scientists of IMMM.
